Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How long do my hairs need to be before they can be waxed?

A. You need to let it grow to about quarter of an inch or 6mm so that the wax can get a good grip on the hair. For the average woman that’s about two weeks growth.

Q. Do I need to provide anything for my treatment?

A. Our representative will bring everything they need with them. For some treatments we will need hot water and/or electricity so all you will have to do is point us in the direction of the kitchen or bathroom and the plug sockets.

Q. I have a very sensitive skin; can you use my own products for my facial?

A. Yes, we are always happy to use a client’s own products for any treatment.

Q. How often should I have a treatment?

A. Everyone is different but here are the average times for our most popular treatments:
Waxing: every 4 to 6 weeks
Eyelash Tint: every 4 to 6 weeks
Facial: every 4 weeks
Manicure & Pedicure: every 4 weeks
Massage: every 4 weeks
Hollywood Toes: every 4 to 6 weeks

Q. I have never had a bikini wax before and feel shy. What will happen and what should I wear?

A. There is really no need to feel shy, we find our clients feel much more relaxed in their own familiar surroundings rather than in a strange treatment room in a salon. You keep your pants on during the wax so nothing is on show that you wouldn’t be showing on the beach! Our representative will give you a towel to put over your lap and will only peel back the side they are actually working on at that time.
You decide how much hair you want removed, whether it’s a standard bikini which is the hair outside the pant line or a high bikini which includes high sides and underneath. You will be asked to lie down flat and will be shown you how to stretch the skin with your hand to ensure the most comfortable wax. Then the area is wiped with some gel to make sure there are no oils or sweat on the skin and the area is lightly powdered. This helps the wax to get a good grip on the hairs. The wax will then be rolled on and a paper strip applied and pulled off. When all the hair is removed a soothing afterwax lotion will be applied.

Q. How much space is needed for treatments to be carried out?

A. Our representative will bring a treatment couch with them for facials and most waxing. If space is really tight it is OK for you to have your treatment on your bed or sofa, there must however, be enough space to fit a stool at the end. For spray tans our representative will need about 2 square metres to erect the tanning cubicle.

Q. Do you take Cheques or Credit Cards?

A. We're afraid not, we only take cash and require payment at the time of treatment.

Q. I have a disability, can you accommodate me?

A. If you make us aware of your disability when booking your treatment we can discuss how best your needs can be met. Usually mobility problems are not an issue as you are being treated at home where everything is set up for your comfort. Lots of treatments can be done in a wheelchair or lying on your bed or sofa. If you are in doubt, call for a chat and we are sure that we will be able to put your mind at rest.
